The U.S. Climate Reference Network (USCRN) is a NOAA network of climate monitoring stations with sites across the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii. These stations use high-quality instruments to measure temperature, precipitation, wind speed, soil moisture, soil temperature, and more.
The USCRN is part of the multi-agency National Coordinated Soil Moisture Monitoring Network (NCSMMN).
How to
What can I do with these data?
- Selected daily parameters from the USCRN data are available as graphs and other file formats for easy access by users ranging from the general public to science experts.
How do I use the site?
- Select USCRN station or Alaska Climate Reference Network data and select a station from the map or a dropdown box.
- Select up to two variables to plot as a time series.
- Select period of record.
- Click submit.
Access
USCRN Soil Temperature and Soil Moisture Observations: View current or past air temperature, precipitation, solar radiation, surface temperature, soil moisture soil temperature, and fractional and total available water capacity data. Data can be downloaded in different formats including an image of the graph.
